Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities (“Jumpstart”) has been reducing financial barriers to help kids get into the game for a decade. In its first year, Jumpstart helped 45,000 children across Canada play and by the end of 2015, the charity had helped over 1,000,000 kids participate in over 70 sports.

Over the past 10 years, Jumpstart has grown from a simple idea into one of Canada’s most respected charities. Working with an extensive network of Community Partners and Ambassadors, Jumpstart helps to identify families in need and provides assistance in order to get kids off the bench and into the game.

Jumpstart is Canadian Tire Corporation’s charity of choice. It is a national charity, consisting of a network of 332 local Chapters, dedicated to helping kids aged four to 18 from financially disadvantaged families participate in a sport or physical activity of their choice. Under the leadership of Chairman Emeritus Martha Billes and newly appointed Chairman Owen Billes, the charity has helped more than one million children across Canada participate in organized sport and physical activity, achieving this monumental milestone in 2015.

Jumpstart is dedicated to maintaining this momentum and looks forward to helping the next million kids get in the game, build confidence, learn valuable leadership skills, and chase their sporting dreams.
